Beliefs

Our beliefs about Jesus, salvation, faith, discipling and the church's purpose

Our Beliefs

Jesus

We believe there is one true God who demonstrated His love for humanity by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. Jesus suffered the penalty that our sins should have brought to us. He paid our debt to sin at the cross, was raised in glorious triumph, and sits at the right hand of God. We believe He will come again to claim His followers.

salvation

We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We cannot earn or deserve what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. Forgiveness of sins and reconciliation to God is His loving gift to us through the life and selfless sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. God guarantees our salvation by giving us the indwelling and abiding presence of His Holy Spirit.

faith

We believe faith manifests itself by repentance, baptism (immersion in water) in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of sins, and the gift of the indwelling Holy Spirit. We then live a life that embodies God's love and life.

following Jesus

We believe that all Christians are called to a life of discipleship that imitates Christ's own. In following Jesus Christ, we are guided by God's Word preserved for us in the Bible and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Our weekly participation in the Lord's Supper serves to remind us of God's saving work in Jesus Christ and the covenant life that all people can enjoy and experience with Him.

purpose of the church

We believe the purpose of the church is to glorify God, the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit by reflecting and demonstrating the card of God for the world. By God's grace, we strive to share Jesus through our words and actions, to encourage others to mature as followers of Christ, and to love God first as well as love all others as God has loved us.
