The adult ministry opportunities focus on the messages of the Bible, relationships and experiences all designed to bring adults closer to Jesus. On this page we highlight the adult Bible Classes, the adult Life Groups, and adult Wednesday Evening Community Meal, Workshops and Classes.
Adult Bible Classes
The Bible teaches that we will be transformed by the "renewal" of our minds. Our Bible Classes are a place where we come together in fellowship to share in the study of Scripture so that we may be transformed and grow together in faith and love.
The Sunday Morning Bible Study classes meet between 10:05-10:45am.
Fellow Workers in Christ Jesus: Women in Ministry, Meeting Room 3, Leaders Lee Crowder and D'Esta Love
Paul refers to many women as he commends his "fellow workers in Christ Jesus" in Romans 16. Have you ever wondered about their ministry work with Paul? Or do you wonder how to respond to passages regarding "restrictions" placed on women in the early church, especially when talking about their roles? How do we look at the difficult passages regarding "headship," "submission," and "silence”? Please come explore with us the historical context, Jesus' words and actions, Paul's words, examples of women in the NT, the difficult passages, as well as Montgomery's history regarding the roles of women.
Building Christian Character, Meeting Rooms 1 and 2, Leaders Karen Jones and Others
In this class we will look deeper into the qualities of Christian character that we are to be building into our lives. Some of these virtues are listed in 2 Peter 1:5-7 and overlap with the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23. We frequently read through these lists without giving the virtues further thought.
We will study in small table groups where people can share with each other the related Bible passages and their insights into the qualities of faith, knowledge, perseverance, godliness, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. You will be encouraged by both the study and the fellowship.
Note: If you have children, please bring them along, with an activity and a snack to help them pass the time. If you are not an early morning person, consider bringing your coffee and breakfast to class! We'd love to see you there!
Adult Life Groups
Life Groups are small groups that meet weekly all over the Albuquerque area. The smaller life group gathering offers an appropriate setting to develop a kind of community that fosters significant, Christ-centered friendships. These close spiritual relationships help empower us to become more like Jesus, in fact, we strive to become disciples for Jesus.
In these smaller groups, we come to know fellow disciples - and are known by them - in ways that lift up our spirits and our souls. There is more opportunity to ask the hard questions, voice doubts, confess needs, and express grief than in the larger gathering. When Jesus chose twelve to "be with Him," He provided a great model for the growth and development of disciples.
We provide information about the life group locations, meeting times, and leaders here.
