Our Identity
We summarize our mission at Montgomery in this way: Making disciples of Jesus Christ who love God and love others. We believe that when you follow God, connect to the church, discover your purpose, and serve others, you will experience a life fulfilled. Whether you’ve been attending here a few years, months, or even just a day—we are committed to helping you grow closer to Christ in these ways. We know that God is up to something incredible in this community and in this city. We'd love for you to join us on this crazy journey of following Jesus and bringing the hope of heaven to the earth!
Our History
Montgomery Church comes from a church planting heritage. In the 1950s, the 5th and Marble Church of Christ planted congregations in developing Albuquerque neighborhoods, including the San Pedro Blvd Church of Christ that later grew into the Montgomery Blvd Church of Christ in 1964.
The initial Montgomery Church building was alone in a field on a dirt road called Montgomery Blvd, now one of the busiest streets in New Mexico! In 2020, the original Montgomery Blvd building was sold and the congregation moved across the street to a new building. The spirit of reaching and serving those in our neighborhood, as well as in other countries, remains.
What to expect in service
The worship services are usually 60 minutes in length. We begin with singing praise, followed by a message from scripture, partaking in Communion, another praise song and conclude with a blessing from one of our Shepherds.
